We had a visit from a nutritionist!

Do you know which drink has the most sugar out of:
coke, lemon lime and bitters, v, e2, water, milk, chocolate milk or poweraide?

We learned about reading food labels.  We want to be eating foods that are less than ten grams of sugar.  Fats need to be less than ten grams too.  Sodium needs to be less than 400mg.

Did you know that the way you cook food can change which part of the food pyramid it would go in?

Thunder Thunder!

Thunder, thunder, you are frightening
Thunder, thunder, you are uncontrollable
Crashing, bashing, cracking,
oh thunder, you are so scary that you sound like an earthquake.
Hail, rain, wind, thunder and lightning - all very scary.
Scary, freaky, horrifying, terrifying.

Anzac Day

Mahalia's Mum came in and showed us some real medals from her Dad.  It was awesome!

Thank you for save our country - You are my hero!

Thank you for fighting for freedom!

Thank you for risking your life for our country.

Thank you for giving up your life and going to fight the men.

Guess who came to our Duffy Hero assembly today?

This is Luke that used to be on Shortland Street.  His real name is Gerald.  He loves reading and has to do a lot of reading for his jobs.  When he is not acting he is a high school teacher.  When he was on Shortland Street he was just acting.  He is married in real life.  He doesn't really do taxidermy or have an interest in vodoo.   He loves basketball and most sports also.  His favourite colour is blue, favourite word is crisps and favourite letter is g.  We enjoyed having him visit our school.
